Caribbean Carnival, fully curated.
Fully handled. Finally yours.

I’m Esha — Carnivalista in Chief at Events by Ashé. For over 15 years, I’ve curated Caribbean Carnival experiences for women who lead in every other room they walk into — and deserve to be fully handled in this one.

Esha Herbert-Davis, Carnivalista in Chief and founder of Events by Ashé

It started at our dinner table.

Events by Ashé wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born at our kitchen table, somewhere between dinner and dessert, when my husband Tarik and I started comparing notes on our very first Trinidad Carnival experiences.

The missteps. The misinformation. The “wait, what did I just register for?” moments. The costume confusion. The mas camp we couldn’t find. The fête that wasn’t what we thought it was.

And the thing that stopped me cold? I’m Trini.

If a woman with Trinidadian heritage could fumble her first Carnival, what was happening to women showing up for the first time with no cultural roadmap at all?

That conversation lit something up in me — because I know what Caribbean Carnival actually is when it’s done right. It’s not a party. It’s a homecoming. It’s a release. It’s a centuries-old cultural tradition that has held Black women in particular through grief, through joy, through revolution, through every season of becoming.

And every woman deserves to feel that freedom at least once in her life.

That’s why Events by Ashé exists. Not to sell you a trip — but to walk you into my culture the way it deserves to be entered: with care, with context, and with someone who knows the way. You don’t have to figure it out. You don’t have to translate anything. You just have to show up — and let the experience do what it was always meant to do.

What “handled” actually means.

Every experience we curate moves through three phases. We call it the Handled Freedom Framework — and it’s the reason our Carnivalistas come back year after year.

PREPARE

Clarify · Educate · Confirm

Before you ever board a flight, we’ve already done the work. We clarify exactly what your Carnival experience will look like, educate you on the cultural moments worth knowing, and confirm every booking, registration, and reservation in writing. No surprises. No “I think it’s handled.”

GUIDE

Coordinate · Navigate · Protect

On the ground, your ambassador team coordinates your transfers, navigates the local rhythm of fêtes and mas, and protects your time and energy from the chaos that swallows so many first-timers. You’re never lost. You’re never the one chasing a costume pickup at midnight.

FREE

Release · Connect · Restore

This is the part you came for. Released from logistics. Connected to a sisterhood of Carnivalistas who get it. Restored by an experience that finally feels like the rest you keep promising yourself. This is what “handled” was always supposed to deliver.

The team behind the handling.

Handled Freedom isn’t a one-woman operation. Behind every Carnivalista experience is a small, intentional team of seasoned Carnival veterans, on-the-ground ambassadors, and behind-the-scenes coordinators who make the seamless feel effortless.

Your ambassador team is made up of people with years of Caribbean Carnival experience under their belt — some local to Trinidad, Barbados, and Grenada, some who have travelled the road so many times they may as well be. They know which fête is actually worth the late night, which mas camp pickup is running on time, and which moments to slow you down for so you don’t miss the cultural detail that makes the whole thing make sense.

Our stateside coordinators handle the pre-trip logistics so by the time you land, every detail is already done.

You’re never alone. You’re never figuring it out. You’re with us — start to finish.

“I loved knowing you guys had it covered. I’m always the responsible person on holidays, and it was so great to have someone else in charge. The group dynamic was lovely. The webinars and WhatsApp groups helped us feel part of everything beforehand — you created a lovely, accepting atmosphere.”

What our Carnivalistas are saying.

Don’t take our word for it — read theirs. Here’s a live look at what women are saying after they travel with us.

Every single Carnivalista who travels with us is supported by a team that has been in this work long enough to anticipate what could go wrong — and quietly handle it before you ever know it was a question.

That’s not a marketing claim. That’s fifteen years of receipts.

Beyond the experience.

Events by Ashé was built for Black women — and a portion of every experience we curate goes back to organizations that serve Black women and girls.

I won’t pretend this part is complicated. I know who built me. I know whose shoulders I stand on. And I know that the same brilliance, resilience, and joy that travels with us every Carnival season deserves to be poured into wherever it shows up next — in a young girl learning she’s worthy of softness, in a woman finding her footing after a hard chapter, in a community quietly rebuilding itself.

Service is not a side mission for us. It’s woven into the model.

The nonprofits we partner with change from year to year — what changes is the name on the check, not the commitment behind it.
When you travel with Events by Ashé, you’re not just claiming your spot in Carnival. You’re part of something that keeps giving long after the soca fades.

Your seat at Carnival is waiting.
