Ultimate Trinidad Carnival 2024 Recap – Part 2

And now…De best – Lime at the Hyatt
This event is a newcomer to the top of our Trinidad Carnival list! Seems like there were a lot of newcomers this year right? 😉
The reason this one floats to the top of the pile is because we’re all foodies here at Events by Ashé. And Lime at the Hyatt can only be described as a Trinidad Carnival foodie experience!
Here’s a mere listing of what food was available: all kinds of grilled meats (we had seconds of the lamb), Meena House Indian food (where the food was brought over to you by a server), a gourmet taco truck, a selection Chinese dishes, a ramen booth, “bougie” crab and dumplin’, roti, ceviche selections and an entire dessert section!
The organizers of this fête not only upgraded the experience by making the layout easier to navigate, they also packed in more food and drink choices. They added another bubbly bar, an Angostura booth AND included a couple of tourism options – Visit Barbados had their special rum tastings and Puerto Rico was in the house!
And then, if the excellent food options were not enough, there were the performances. The headlining acts were Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons (yes, we were in heaven). Add Kes the Band to this list, along with Mical Teja, who we mentioned in part 1 (click here to watch it); these performances were perfect. And there were more: Nadia Batson, Lyrikal, College Boy Jesse, Viking Ding Dong…everyone passed through and kept the party going!
Lime also set up 2 stages, so the live music and performances were always going. We really liked that change this year. Now you know why this is at the top of the list for us!
